Through a tax-deductible donation, you can help preserve the beauty of Long Island's beaches and marine life while supporting our marine education programs. Donations of any size are welcome. All donors contributing $100 or more will be recognized in our annual report. (Workplace giving, matching, and volunteering where applicable, through Benevity.com) Become a Coastal Steward Join a select group of individual donors and become a Coastal Steward by making a contribution of $1,000 or more. Coastal Stewards will be recognized on our website, in our annual report, our newsletters, our other printed materials, and on signage at the Marine Environmental Stewardship Center and our special events. Coastal Stewards will also receive a guided tour of our Marine Environmental Stewardship Center upon request and by appointment. Raise 1000 oysters from the comfort of your chair!
For only $2,000 Coastal Steward LI will raise 1,000 oysters in your name! We will send photos of our volunteers cleaning, measuring, and caring for the oysters every 2 weeks. Then in the fall or early winter, you'll receive a video of them being released into Mt. Sinai or Port Jefferson Harbor where they will join our thousands of other oysters placed there to grow into mature oysters, repopulating the harbors and cleaning the water.
Have an event coming up?
Coastal Steward LI will bring up to 100 oysters (about 6-10 oysters per person) to your office event or function. We will shuck and serve you and your guests oysters on the half shell at the event and give tutorials on the easiest way to open them.
Want to do more? You and your organization/ company/family can come and join in the dirty fun of raising oysters every other Saturday at Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai starting in June!
